John Taft moved to Colorado in 2004 with his young family to pursue being an artist, leaving his design career in New York City, to follow what felt like a calling. Multiple trips across the country during his college years attending Art Center College of Design in southern California planted the seed of the West as a worthy subject to be painted. National awards and numerous national shows followed, including the Coors Western Art show in Denver, New York’s Salmagundi Club’s American Masters show, several Oil Painters of America National Exhibits and numerous solo shows. His work is in the permanent collection of The Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, Texas, and The Longmont Museum in Colorado. To view more of his work, visit www.johntaft.com.
