The Collection
"The painting created for the collection is a favorite theme of mine to explore. Growing up in a tropical climate, I remember how much I loved seeing fruits on trees and how good they were right off the branches. Not until I became an artist did I ever consider they'd be such beautiful subjects for paintings. They light laying off the forms of the lemons, but also the complex patterns of the leaves and directional flows of the branches become visual rhythm to explore. The suggestion of the date invites the viewers into a private space to enjoy the scent of and colors of the lemons."
